About Course  – 

Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute and Jyotirvidya Parisanstha are
organisations with a storied history.These two organisations are joining hands for the first time to launch a course ancient Indian heritage of astronomy.

This course will provide insights into role of astronomy into understanding history
and India of the ancient times. It will give a glimpse into the astronomical heritage of India.

Sessions –

1. Introduction to astronomical concepts
2. Ancient Indian view and study on astronomical concepts such as planetary
   motion, solar system and constellations.
3. Indian system of time measurement
4. Works and legacies of ancient Indian astronomers
5. Instruments for observations of celestial objects
6. Archaeo-astronomy
