The Centre for Oriental Studies shall strengthen the research activities and train young scholars in various areas of Orientology.

Chairs (Two): The two Chairs are meant for eminent scholars in any area of Orientology.
The Infosys Foundation has named the Chairs as
(1) Infosys Foundation Chair
(2) Karnatak Chair

Visiting Scholars (Two): The Scholar would be an eminent scholar in any area of Orientology and would be a retired person or one in service.

Visiting Fellows (Four): The Fellow would be an eminent scholar in any area of Orientology / post doc scholar or even a PhD student.

Along with these, the program also supports four research projects – Bhagavata Purana Project, Cataloguing of Manuscripts, Collection of Kadamba Inscriptions and Atharvaveda Project.
